The Grab-CrabTM is designed to function as an
environmental conservation trap for capture of marine animals, e.g., crabs,
squid, and some species of fish. The Grab-CrabTM is
safe, fun, quick and easy to use. Conservation benefits
from use is reduction of stressors to marine animals by reducing
over-catch of smaller individuals while simultaneously preventing
capture of larger individuals which are generally ‘breed
stock’. The Grab-CrabTM is designed so
it can’t capture smaller crabs or marine animals and cannot capture larger ones
that are usually carrying eggs, breeding stock. It’s designed to
capture specimens falling between optimal ages and weights for harvesting and
human consumption. Using this new method of harvesting marine life
will assure that there will be future generations of marine animals for
future generations of humans. Too, use of the Grab-CrabTM
assures that smaller marine animals are not accidentally caught
and may be harvested in the future and larger ones will be able to
function as brood stock, as nature had intended. The Grab-CrabTM is designed to
catch and hold slightly over ½ pound of buoyant weight, which, if measured on
dry land would be about 1/2 to 3/4th's of a pound per
catch. The Grab-CrabTM is designed to reduce the
number of crabs, squid and other marine animals caught but not used as a
food source. Its use is designed to have positive impact on the
gentle eco-balance of nature by reducing environmental stressors to marine
populations while eliminating waste of marine natural resources. Marine
animals produce eco-friendly gasses and other environmental by-products that
are beneficial to man, to the oceans and the Earth’s environment in
general. Through use of the Grab-CrabTM reduction of
over-harvesting of marine life can significantly reduce, prevent, or
eliminate entirely, any additional negative impact that absence or depletion of
these beneficial gasses could have on or contribute to climate change.
